How This Guide Earns Its Money

Every map of the sky has a maker, and makers have bills to pay. This page explains where the guide's money comes from. It covers one paid link, the Ontario rules that shape it, and the links that pay nothing.

01

One Paid Link, Clearly Marked

The guide carries a single paid link. It sits only on the home page, and it is marked Ad. It leads to an online casino run by a partner, and that partner can change. The link earns the guide a commission.

Neither this site nor OLG.ca runs the partner's casino. The guide does not say that the partner is registered. Readers who want to check any online site can search iGaming Ontario's directory first. Inner pages carry no paid link at all.

On the map itself, no money moves. No venue pays to appear among the stars, and none pays for its place in the sky.

02

The Ontario Rules Behind the Ad

Ontario sets firm rules for igaming advertising, and they shape the ad box on the home page. AGCO standards prohibit advertising inducements and credits anywhere but the operator's own gaming site. Direct marketing sent with a player's active consent is the other exception. That rule has held since the market opened on April 4, 2022.

Advertising must not target minors, self-excluded people or high-risk people. For this rule, a minor is anyone under 19. Themes that appeal mainly to minors are out, as is media aimed mainly at them. Since February 28, 2024, active and retired athletes may appear only to promote responsible gambling. Celebrities, influencers and others likely to appeal to minors are barred as well.

Each ad must also carry a responsible gambling message. That is why the box reads 19+, play responsibly, and names ConnexOntario. Operators answer for their marketing affiliates meeting these standards. An affiliate paid by a registered operator may not also promote unregistered sites serving Ontario.

Every Other Link Is Unpaid

Every other link on the site is unpaid. Venue pages, OLG, the AGCO, iGaming Ontario and the help lines earn the guide nothing. Those links are there because a reader may need them, and for no other reason.
